We’ve all seen weird things on the side of the road, but this life-size, walking teddy bear might be a new one.

This particular bear goes by "Bearsun," and he’s apparently walking the entire distance from Los Angeles to San Francisco, documenting his six-day journey on Instagram. The unidentified bear started his trek in Little Tokyo on Monday and hopes to arrive in San Francisco by Saturday.

The strange sight has attracted many well-wishers and photo opportunities.

"And I’m off! Making my way to San Fran. Check out my last post to track my journey to SF! Wish me luck!" the giant brown bear wrote to his growing fanbase.

Those joining in him on his journey from home includes some people who have called authorities.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Station encountered the bear on Wednesday. "Well, this was a bear-y unique situation," the department wrote in a cheeky post. "You may have seen a large teddy bear walking through town, yes a large teddy bear…walking."

"I’ll be camping outdoors the entire time," Bearsun wrote on Instagram. "I’ll have a photographer meet me at 5 pin points to take pics, do video document so we can share as much as the experience with you."

Bearsun’s website links to a GoFundMe aiming to raise $10,000 for the walk.

There's no word on what the goal of Bearsun’s walk is.
