PETA has another issue, and it has to do with the insults we all call each other.
The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals has called for people to stop using animals as insults. For example, if someone is acting cowardly, don't call them a "chicken." If someone is acting lazy, don't call them a "sloth."
They issued a tweet offering more examples that has been relentlessly mocked by users.
PETA further wrote, "Speciesist language isn’t just harmful, but it is also inaccurate," and that "anti-animal slurs degrade animals by applying negative human traits to certain species. Perpetuating the idea that animals are sly, dirty, or heartless desensitizes the public and normalizes violence against other animals."
The group has been relentlessly mocked after issuing the edict, with one person writing they are acting like a bunch of "dodos."
