Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Lloyd had a similar playing style to Odell Beckham Jr., and he also has a pretty good idea of where the star receiver may be the perfect fit.

Lloyd, appearing on the “Upon Further Review” podcast with Zach Brook, believes there are two teams that stand out as great fits for the now-free agent wide receiver.

“Obviously, I’m a big Josh McDaniels fan, I’d like to see him in New England,” the former Patriots receiver said. “I think that he’s the missing piece as far as getting Mac Jones to have that big-play component to his game. That’s the key. If they can get him to play there in New England that’s a good stop.”

Bill Belichick is not afraid to take on polarizing figures if the talent is there. See Randy Moss, Antonio Brown, LeGarrette Blount, Albert Haynesworth and Aqib Talib, to name a few.

And the Patriots are just a game behind the Bills in the AFC East, so adding a player of Beckham’s caliber would certainly bolster the receiving corps.

But if Beckham does not land with the Patriots, Lloyd would like to see him on the Kansas City Chiefs.

“There’s that element of freestyling that Mahomes likes to play; that backyard style that Odell is good at – getting the ball in his hands and having a lot of free space,” Lloyd said. “It would take a lot of pressure off having the double teams on Tyreek [Hill] and brackets on [Travis] Kelce. Hopefully, it will free up some space…they’ll really be able to run the ball more.”

After two consecutive Super Bowl appearances, the Chiefs have struggled this season as they sit in third place at 5-4 in the AFC West.

Beckham certainly comes with some baggage but Lloyd makes some valid points about the best possible landing spots for the receiver.
