How The Greg Hill Show grades the Patriots’ draft

The New England Patriots’ 2025 draft has drawn rave reviews from a host of experts. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranked it as the No. 1 draft class among all 32 NFL teams. ESPN’s Mel Kiper gave their draft an A-, his third-best grade. PFF gave the Pats an A, one of 10 teams to get that high of a grade (feels a bit generous to give out that many A’s, but who am I to complain about an easy grader).

On Monday morning, The Greg Hill Show offered up their own grades. Most of the show was as high on their picks as the experts… except for Jermaine Wiggins, who was a little more lukewarm. Listen to the full segment above.

“Honestly, I’m jacked. I think they get an A,” Chris Curtis said. “That was an awesome, awesome draft by the Patriots.”

Wiggy, however, still didn’t like that they took offensive tackle Will Campbell fourth overall, and said that has to impact the grade since it’s the most important pick. He ultimately gave them a C/C+.

“Isn’t that how you judge the draft, is really your top pick?” Wiggy said. “Isn’t that really how you judge it? I mean, yeah, they added some positional players, they added players later on in the draft. But isn't the expectations about that first-round pick? Because that's the guy that you expect to be a contributor.”

Chris Scheim also wasn’t a big fan of the Campbell pick initially, but loved the rest of the Patriots’ draft enough to give them an A+.

“I spontaneously combusted over the weekend,” Scheim said. “Curtis is being too light. This is an A-plus draft. I don't care how you spin it. This is the best draft I've seen the Patriots have in decades.”

“First of all, TreVeyon Henderson, in my opinion, might be the best running back the Patriots have had,” he continued. “He's gonna be freaking awesome. I love the Kyle Williams pick. I think Kyle Williams was a second-round talent. You ended up getting him in the third round. I think he's really good. … And then, I think the Will Campbell, Jared Wilson picks, too, I think will end up helping the offensive line in a way that I didn't necessarily expect to get this draft.

“So, I think they have crafted an identity. I think they really went for best player available when you're talking about guys like Josh Farmer, Bradyn Swinson, getting them in the fourth and fifth rounds. Like, those guys were sitting on the board for them, and they were able to grab those guys. I think those guys could contribute this year.”

Former Patriot Rob Ninkovich joined the show later Monday morning and gave the Patriots a B++, with Campbell the biggest highlight for him.
