Jonathan Papelbon is on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, he’s throwing out plenty of hot takes.
Why is ESPN airing a 7-part Jeter docuseries?

The iconic ex-Red Sox closer issued a challenge to ESPN Tuesday regarding their seven-part Derek Jeter docuseries, “The Captain.” Papelbon wondered aloud when the WorldWide Leader will make a documentary about Jason Varitek, who served as captain of the Red Sox, and of course, got the better of Alex Rodriguez during an infamous 2004 brawl.
“Hey ESPN when y’all are ready to do a documentary on the real captain who whipped A Rods [expletive] let me know!,” Papelbon tweeted.
Part one of the Jeter docuseries largely consisted of boring hero worship, telling the story of his uninterrupted path from first-round draft pick to starting Yankees shortstop. The intensity of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry will presumably be covered in a later episode.
No word on whether it will show footage of Varitek grabbing A-Rod and promptly lifting him off the ground.
In case it doesn’t, the highlight is below:
