the greg hill show: The 1 piece that would transform the Pats into a playoff team, according to coach Wiggy
We now have some clarity on Rhamondre Stevenson's ankle injury.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, tests revealed that the Patriots running back suffered a high ankle sprain during their 6-0 loss to the Chargers. He's expected to miss "a few weeks".
Stevenson left Sunday's game in the first quarter after being rolled up on by Los Angeles linebacker Tuli Tuipulotu. He was helped off of the field by trainers and was unable to put weight on his right leg.
X-ray's on the injured ankle came back negative, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe, but further testing and an MRI has now revealed a sprain.
Stevenson has rushed for 619 yards and four touchdowns on 156 carries this season and has been one of just a few bright spots for the Patriots' othersie stagnant offense.
With New England sitting at 2-10 with five games to go, it may be in both the team's and their third-year running back's best interest to shut him down for the rest of the season.
The Patriots remaining running back depth consists of Ezekiel Elliott, Ty Montgomery, JaMycal Hasty, and practice squadder Kevin Harris.
