It’s finally here! After months of speculation, consternation, mock drafts, talking draft, meetings, shows, specials and more, the NFL Draft is upon us. Tonight, 31 players will be selected, hearing their names, being called to the stage for a hug with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, fulfilling a lifelong dream… being drafted, not getting a hug from Goodell. Worth noting - Miami will not be drafting tonight as they forfeited their selection (something about trying to talk to a GOAT on a boat).

So how’s it going to play out? Who’s going to be taken first? How many QBs and wide receivers go in the first round? Who will be a steal? Who’s gonna be a reach? Will Mac still be with the team? So many questions! Oh, and most importantly, who will the Patriots select after they trade back? JK! We, as usual, have no idea what the Patriots are going to do. And though it’s a running joke in Pats Nation about trading back it’s worth noting Belichick trades back as often as he trades up. Honestly, we’re not making it up!
We think we know what the Patriots need (offensive line, cornerback, wide receiver and tight end the top needs, likely in that order). Which means Belichick & Co. will likely take another position. Who knows? The one thing we know is what WE, the fans, broadcasters and writers of WEEI radio and WEEI.com want the Pats to do. Thus, we present our New England Patriots first-round wishes. While drama and dysfunction play well, it’s actually more fun when the Patriots score and are, you know, good! If we get our wish and nail the pick then feel free to pay us tribute on the air Friday.
