Why you should bet the under in Patriots-Browns

A week in which we workshopped just how many wins we needed to break 60% on the season, the Winners Club was practically the Losers Club with how much we were clowned. That’s an It joke.

Here’s the full breakdown:

MUT: 0-3      MISSED SF +1, CLE/CIN u47, BAL -6              13-14

JOHN:  1-2      HIT u NE/CAR, MISSED BAL -6, Wentz INT           16-11

SCHEIM:  1-2      HIT LAC, MISSED LAR, DAL                      14-13

LUCY:   2-1      HIT NYG, NE; MISSED BUF                           2-1

TOTAL:    4-8                                                               45-39

Be sure to check the injury reports for the Patriots and the Browns Sunday morning before making any decisions as there are quite a few on both sides that could impact the line and how you feel about throwing anything on either team.

Regardless, I think the play here is the under.

Myles Garrett potentially not being available for the Browns in this game is huge considering how his presence has helped fellow pass rushers Takk McKinley and Jadeveon Clowney. The two are likely less effective sans Garrett, but the Cleveland secondary may be so good that the Patriots receivers are unlikely to rip off a bunch of big plays against them. I expect the Patriots to go more run heavy and/or quick passes, regardless of Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson’s statuses and let Baker Mayfield make mistakes on the other side of the ball. Cleveland’s offense may take a similar form even if Nick Chubb doesn’t play, a prime formula for the under 46 to hit.
