AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- As more of the community has been vaccinated for COVID-19, Austin Public Health says it will test out a walkup COVID-19 vaccination clinic model this week.

The clinic will be held Thursday and Friday of this week from noon until 7:30 p.m. at the Delco Activity Center on Pecan Brook Drive.

No appointment or pre-registration will be necessary for those who want to get their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. You can, however, save some time by pre-registering with APH online.

If doses run out before 7:30 p.m., staff will help schedule appointments for anyone else who shows up.

For those waiting on second dose appointments, APH officials say those are automatically being scheduled about 28 days after the first dose. APH says they'll reach out via email, text message, and phone calls to schedule those appointments.

The online scheduling system remains available for APH's other vaccination websites. Officials say the current appointment queue will close Friday morning at 7 a.m., and will re-open Friday night at 7 p.m. to begin scheduling appointments for next week.

Anyone having issues with the online scheduler can call 3-1-1 or 512-974-2000 for help, or a callback from APH's Equity Hotline.
