After a year of decreased in-person shopping due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Friday deals are back in full force.
Although some brick-and-mortar stores were closed last November and pandemic restrictions limited crowd sizes, Black Friday wasn’t a total bust. According to WalletHub, a personal finance website, the number of Americans who shopped online on Black Friday passed 100 million for the first time in 2020 while in-store shopping dropped by 37 percent.
With stores open again this year and deals also offered online, consumers might be overwhelmed with options.
“Consumers need to plan their spending in advance,” Byoungho “Ellie” Jin, Ph.D, president of the International Textile and Apparel Association, told WalletHub. “I suggest making a list of purchases and start researching the price for the products now. This way, consumers will know what the real deal is or not.”
To help Black Friday shoppers, WalletHub conducted a study of nearly 5,000 deals from 21 of the nation’s largest retailers. Here are the top 10 retailers with the highest average discount percentages:

Others might be looking to find a deal on a large purchase, such as a refrigerator, or something expensive like a new computer.
