Nicole Guarino teaches third grade at Ford Elementary in Lynn. The students in her classroom are mostly from low-income families, the majority of them are multilingual learners, and she also has some special education students in her class as well. Many of her third graders come to her reading at a kindergarten or lower reading level. They often don't enjoy reading books because of that. For the last 4 or 5 years she's created a Scholastic Book campaign for her friends and family to donate money to her students. With that money, she orders a monthly book for each of her students, and by the end of the school year, they have 10 new books to help them build an at-home library. Clear her list HERE!
