Everything you need to know about the 2021 Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards celebrate the best music, artists, and musical events of the past year. Unlike other award shows, the Billboard Music Awards base their winners off a wide-variety of factors including sales, streaming and radio airplay, touring, and social engagement. The publication tracks data on the industry year round through a variety of charts. This year’s awards are based on the chart period of March 21, 2020 through April 3, 2021.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards are set to take place live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Nick Jonas will be hosting the BBMAs this year as he follows in the footsteps of his fellow Voice coach, Kelly Clarkson, who served as host for the previous three years. It marks the first time he’s hosted the awards show and the second time in his career he’s hosted an awards show. His first came in 2015 when he hosted Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

Here’s where the fun starts. Musical performances are always a highlight of the BBMAs and this year promises to be no exception. Artists scheduled to perform include BTS, The Jonas Brothers and Marshmello, Duran Duran, The Weeknd, DJ Khaled featuring H.E.R. and Migos, P!nk, Twenty One Pilots, AJR, Glass Animals, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Sounds of Blackness
