Abigail Breslin claps back at fan who insulted her dad for being on a ventilator with COVID-19

Abigail Breslin is hitting back on social media after a fan insulted her dad who is currently on a ventilator after contracting COVID-19.

Earlier this week, the “Little Miss Sunshine” actress, 24, revealed her father was hospitalized after testing positive for the virus.

"I’m asking for prayers and positivity sent this way for my daddy, Michael who tested positive for COVID-19 and this morning had to be placed on a ventilator,” Breslin wrote on Instagram.

Breslin assured her followers that “he’s under great care" and to remain vigilant about adhering to safety guidelines.

“I’m extremely thankful for the nurse and doctors who are working hard to make sure he fights this virus,” the star added. “I have faith that things will turn around at any moment, but in the meantime, please continue to wear your masks and follow COVID protocol."

One of commenters appeard to be a COVID denier and responded by writing, “A fake a-- virus that only kills weak a-- people."

Breslin was not having any of it and clapped back to the offensive comment with “you're disgusting,” and posted a screenshot of the conversation, which she later deleted.

She captioned the photo, "Ppl like this are why ppl like my dad are fighting for his life. Shame,” E! News reported.

The "Dirty Dancing" star also shared her thoughts on people who refuse to wear masks.

“This is me saying that if you asked my dad: a mask is FAR LESS comfortable than a ventilator. So stfu. And wear your d--- mask. Please. No one should go thru this," Breslin wrote in a follow-up post on Instagram.

Since her father's diagnosis, Breslin has been keeping her fans updated on his health status.

"I’m so used to talking to dad multiple times a day," she tweeted. "I still call and talk to him thanks to INCREDIBLE nurses who work so hard and make sure he can hear me, even tho he’s not conscious. Can’t wait to hear his voice again. I love you dada."
