Already known for a wide range of celebrity impressions, comedy legend Dana Carvey debuted a new, sidesplitting one Tuesday night on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
This is a pretty intense impression of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of the prominent faces in America's continuing fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The antics come 4:47 into the show's YouTube clip.
"Look, I didn't want this job. It was a circus. I agree. It was Birx, Trump and me. Guess who's still standing? Me," the comedian joked in Dr. Fauci's trademark raspy voice. Carvey's impression gave the nation's top infectious disease expert a distinct mobster feel, as noted by Colbert while he laughed.
"I would be okay if it goes on a few more months," Carey continued as Dr. Fauci. "I get good tables. People love me. I get fan mail. I go on CNN every night. I'm feeling pretty good about myself."
He went on to joke about the doctor's sex life.
"I thought, underneath that nice guy scientist, he's kind of a tough guy. 'You know what, don't f-k with me,'" said Carvey, explaining the origins of his take on Dr. Fauci.
Carvey also shared his impression of President Joe Biden.
