Dating app now lets singles add COVID-19 vaccination status to profiles

A dating app is giving you a shot at vaccinated love.

Coffee Meets Bagel unveiled a new feature that allows singles to declare to potential matches whether or not they’ve received the COVID-19 vaccine.

The San Francisco-based company will allow vaccination status to be displayed publicly on their profile.

Per the New York Post, there will be a tab at the top of the profile that reveals if a person has gotten the vaccine. There will also be an option not to disclose the information.

The new addition is the app's way of acknowledging that people may be pursuing a partner or love interest that has been fully vaccinated against the novel virus.

Users will be prompted to a Q+A in the app, which will give them the following five response options: fully vaccinated, waiting on an additional dose, planning to get vaccinated, not getting vaccinated or prefer not to say,

According to the app, vaccine status can be updated at any time.

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released guidelines that loosened some restrictions for those who have been fully vaccinated.

Those with both doses of the vaccine can visit indoors with unvaccinated members of a single household at low risk, without wearing a mask or maintaining social distance.

Additionally, the guidelines say that although there’s less risk at the gym or restaurants for fully vaccinated people, they should continue to take precautions as these areas have higher chances of having non-vaccinated people. But this means we're slowly at the point where fully vaccinated people can plan date nights in the same way they would pre-COVID.

According to CNN, there are now 30 million people in the United States who are fully vaccinated.
