‘Election’ actress Jessica Campbell dies at 38

Jessica Campbell, who starred opposite Reese Witherspoon in the 1999 film “Election,” has died at the age of 38.

According to TMZ, Campbell passed away suddenly at her home in Portland on December 29th.

Campbell, who had become a naturopathic physician, was found by her aunt collapsed in the bathroom after returning from working at her medical practice, her cousin Sarah Wessling told TMZ.

Neither Campbell’s aunt, nor EMTs were able to revive her. The family is now waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death, the outlet noted.

Campbell played Chris Klein’s younger sister, Tammy Metzler, in “Election.”

Witherspoon, who starred as Tracy Flick in the black comedy, shared her condolences on social media.

"So heart broken to hear this,” Witherspoon wrote. “Working with Jessica on Election was such a pleasure. I'm sending all my love to Jessica's family and loved ones.”
