“Cheap Old Houses” will follow the Finkelsteins as they tour houses across America available for under $150,000 and ultimately choose which ones to feature on their famous site.

“We started Cheap Old Houses on Instagram and it ignited a movement,” Ethan. “Our site features the best historic properties on the market right now and that means we have to go find the best places to post.”

“We always say no sleep until every house is saved,” said Elizabeth.

To kick off the season, the pair will hop in their vintage old truck for a road trip throughout upstate New York, stopping first in Amsterdam to tour a large 1900s Victorian home with a detached carriage house. The two will then head to Fort Plain to see a huge 1850s home with a 1950s retro vibe, and later stop in Greenwich to visit a saved old schoolhouse that has been meticulously restored.

Each walk-through will highlight the homes’ historical significance and propose renovation transformations through 3D graphic renderings—a staple of HGTV that viewers know and love.

“Cheap Old Houses is a real estate rabbit hole—and we live it,” said Elizabeth. “And that’s not even the best part. We get to meet the people who restore these houses too.”

The special preview of the show will be available to stream on Discovery+ on August 9. An additional two episodes will launch each Monday through August 30 with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
