
Jessica Simpson’s youngest child is ready for the real world.

As the school year kicks off, the 41-year-old actress and singer shared that her daughter Birdie Marie asked to go to preschool. Simpson shared an adorable family picture taken on the first day of class for her 2-year-old daughter.
In the heartwarming snap, Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, posed on their front steps while holding Birdie, who is wearing a backpack and a stylish cheetah windbreaker.

“Little Miss Birdie is the BOSS,” Simpson began in the caption of her Instagram post. “She says ‘I want school right now please’ We say ‘Ummm you are only 2 Bird’ She says ‘I want my teacher'," she elaborated.
Simpson shared that the family attempted to convince Birdie that she should “wait a little bit longer” before starting school. However, the little one had already made up her mind.
“She says ‘I not a baby, I go to school now,’” the fashion designer wrote, adding, “We say ‘Well you are our baby’ She says ‘No yous are my babies, let’s go’ and off we went sprinting to catch up.”
“It was an emotional and happy morning,” Simpson recalled.
“I think I’m in a bit of shock at the moment. Gosh darn #BIRDIEMAE is in preschool 😭💚😭💚," she concluded in the emotional post.
After a year of remote learning, Simpson revealed that she felt “very blessed” as her children embarked on their first day of in-person classes.
The mother shared a photo of her son, Ace Knute, 8, and daughter, Maxwell Drew, 9, hugging each other before their first day at a new school.
“After a year and a half these HAPPY kiddos are BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!! New school. New beginnings. This fam is feeling very blessed,” Simpson wrote to Instagram.
Simpson transitioned her children to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
