Mountain Dew's latest drink is on fire.

Businesses are always looking for an advantage over the competition, especially in the food and beverage industry. Restaurant chains and food brands are constantly trying out new items in hopes of stealing some attention and customers from their rivals.

However, the latest may scare more people than it lures in. Mountain Dew recently announced a partnership with Cheetos to release a new Flamin’ Hot drink flavor.

The new drink flavor, which is currently available through the Mountain Dew online store, combines two of PepsiCo’s most popular brands: Mountain Dew and Cheetos.

The new soda flavor is described as a combination of "sweet, citrus DEW with a new spicy goodness." Many fans were intrigued to give the new Mountain Dew flavor a try, while others say they will stick to other dishes for their spicy food fix.

Along with the new soda, Mountain Dew will also release a line of apparel for the occasion, in partnership with Broken Promises. The new line will be available "exclusively to subscribers on the Broken Promises’ app on Friday, September 3” and September 4 for non-subscribers, according to IGN.

We wouldn't be surprised if the next order of business was a Mountain Dew Flamin’ Hot Hard Seltzer! It's not... for now.

Earlier this month, Cheetos announced a new Flaming Hot Cheetos ice cream flavor.

Texas-based Marble Slab Creamery says the mischievous matchup is a perfect combination of sweet heat -- a bit surprising and a whole lot of deliciousness. It features Marble Slab Creamery's famous sweet cream base with Flamin' Hot Cheetos crushed and scattered throughout. You can get it in a cup, cone, or shake.
