the greg hill show: Bill Belichick says he didn't speak to the Packers about Aaron Rodgers in the offseason

One, of many, Patriots offseason rumors this spring was shot into orbit by WFAN’s Craig Carton when he said in June that New England “made an offer” to the Packers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers before he ultimately became a New York Jet.

According to head coach Bill Belichick, however, that wasn’t the case:

“Yeah I’m not really sure what you’re referring to,” the head coach said when asked about the report on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show on Monday. “I personally couldn’t speak to that. Look there's a lot of conversations in the offseason between our personnel people and other executives. I don’t know what he’s really talking about. I personally didn’t talk to the Packers about Aaron Rodgers, no... I mean look, I mean Aaron Rodgers is a great player. That's not really, that's not anything I was aware of."

The Patriots will face off against Rodgers and the Jets twice this season, with the first matchup being at the Meadowlands on September 24.
