6 rings & football things: Pats get pummeled in latest NFLPA Team Report Card

While the Patriots are doing plenty of homework on the quarterbacks atop the NFL Draft this week at the Combine, they seem to be weighing all of their option with the No. 3 overall pick.

According to MassLive’s Mark Daniels, New England has met with Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison in Indianapolis this week.

Harrison, standing at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, is considered among the top five overall prospects in the 2024 Draft class and is viewed by many as the No. 1 wide receiver. The former Buckeye hauled in 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 after a 77/1,263/14 showing the season prior.

When speaking with reporters at the NFL Combine on Tuesday, Patriots de facto general manager Eliot Wolf said they want to "weaponize" the offensive side of the football this offseason.

"It just looks like putting people on the offensive side of the ball that the defensive side has to prepare for," head coach Jerod Mayo, also in Indy, said when asked about what Wolf meant by 'weaponize'. "Whether that's double-teaming or anything like that."

On Harrison Jr. specifically, Wolf said, "He’s a good player. Obviously, there’s a lot of strengths to his game and he can translate it to any offense in the NFL.”

Harrison Jr. is the son of longtime Colts pass catcher Marvin Harrison. He won the Fred Bilentnikoff Award in 2023 as college football's top wide receiver.
