6 rings: 3 crucial clashes in patriots' week 5 matchups vs. saints

The Patriots hit the practice field on Friday for one final time prior to their Week 5 matchup versus the Saints on Sunday.

With both good news and not-so-good news coming out of New England's cornerback room, here's what stood out at Gillette Stadium:

Attendance:

Absent: LB Matthew Judon, CB Christian Gonzalez
PUP: S Cody Davis, DE Trey Flowers
IR: WR Tyquan Thornton, OT Riley Reiff, CB Jack Jones, CB Marcus Jones, DL Daniel Ekuale

Notes:

- As first reported by MassLive's Mark Daniels and then confirmed by head coach Bill Belichick, cornerback Jonathan Jones is tracking to play on Sunday. He's missed the team's final three games due to an ankle injury.

- Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton and cornerback Jack Jones were still not present at practice. They were eligible to return off of injured reserve this week, but it looks like that won't happen until at least Week 5.

- Long snapper Joe Cardona was wearing a red cap on his helmet. Not sure if this means non-contact or if it was there another reason for him to be singled out.
