6 rings: A final look back at Sunday's loss to the Bills, and what to make of Bill Belichick's recent comments

It's Week 18 of the Patriots 2023-24 season, and potentially the last Wednesday of the Bill Belichick era as his football team sits at 4-12 amid their worst year since his hiring in 2000.

"Focused on the Jets," he told WEEI's The Greg Hill Show, several times, when asked about his future on Tuesday.

"I'm looking forward to getting ready for the Jets here," he told media on Wednesday morning when asked if he's had a conversation with Robert Kraft about what's next.

So, in typical Bill Belichick fashion, let's focus on this week. Here’s what stood out at the Patriots' practice outside of Gillette Stadium on Wednesday:

Attendance:

Absent:
CB Myles Bryant
OT Trent Brown

IR:
CB Marcus Jones
DL Daniel Ekuale
CB Christian Gonzalez
LB Matthew Judon
OT Riley Reiff
OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.
OT Calvin Anderson
WR Kendrick Bourne
OL Cole Strange
OT Conor McDermott
RB Rhamondre Stevenson
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

Other Notes:

- Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was placed on injured reserve last weekend with an ankle injury, ending his 2023 season. He finished his first year with the Patriots tallying 29 catches for 260 yards and one touchdown.

- Cornerback Myles Bryant was absent from practice on Wednesday. He was questionable heading into last Sunday's game with a chest injury.

- Trent Brown, who was removed from last week's injury report but a healthy scratch in Buffalo, was not at practice on Wednesday.
