the greg hill show: Curtis thinks the NFL made things harder for the Pats and now easier for the Chiefs
The Patriots officially need a new tight ends coach.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Boston College is working to hire Will Lawing as their next offensive coordinator.
Lawing will once again join forces with Bill O'Brien, who was named the Eagles' head coach last week. The two have worked together over the last 11 seasons in Houston, Alabama, and New England.
When the Patriots re-worked their staff last offseason and hired O'Brien as offensive coordinator, he brought Lawing along with him to serve as tight ends coach. New England's tight ends Hunter Henry, Mike Gesicki, and Pharaoh Brown combined for 84 receptions, 871 yards, and nine touchdowns in 2023-24. Henry led the team with six scores.
The Patriots and new-OC Alex Van Pelt will now begin a search for their next tight ends coach to join their staff of Ben McAdoo (senior offensive assistant), T.C. McCartney (quarterbacks), Scott Peters (offensive line), Robert Kugler (offensive line), and Tiquan Underwood (assistant wide receivers).
