Maybe it was a coincidence. But it surely felt like insult to injury for some Red Sox fans.
As the Phillies celebrated their Wild Card round win over the Cardinals, a familiar song could be heard playing in the background: "Dancing on My Own" by Calum Scott.
The celebratory song was, of course, made popular in 2021 by the Red Sox, who used it as their anthem throughout the run into the American League Championship Series. It was a tune picked out by former Sox catcher Kevin Plawecki.
Making the images even more difficult to digest for some Sox followers was the presence of former Red Sox slugger Kyle Scwharber, the 2022 National League home run champion.
Also in the middle of the celebration was another familiar face, former Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski.
