Today being the last day of Donald Trump's term as president, we expect to see some criminals pardoned. This is often the case with past presidents leaving office. We've already heard Lil' Wayne is likely to be pardoned of his recent gun charges, but is Joe Exotic on the president's list as well?
If you ask him, he is. The "Tiger King" star reportedly has a limousine waiting a half mile down the front door of the prison doors where he is serving a 22-year sentence for hiring a hitman to kill his nemesis Carol Baskin, as well as animal abuse charges. Eric Love, a private investigator who is leading Joe's case, told Metro on Monday: "This time tomorrow, we're going to be celebrating. We have good reason to believe it will come through. We're confident enough we already have a limousine parked about half a mile from the prison. We are really in action mode right now."
Why would Joe Exotic be so confident that President Trump is going to free him? His private investigator said "I think the president has sided with us, and I believe it will take most of the limelight away from President-elect Joe Biden."
I find it wildly unlikely that the pardon will actually happen, but I've been wrong before. In fact, given the events of the last year, nothing would really shock me.
