In case you didn't hear, the Honolulu Police Department caught some heat this week for spending $150,000 on a robot dog from Boston Dynamics.
So here's a question: Would you ever want a robot pet?
There are a few advantages, like not having to feed or walk them. Plus, they'd never die. But according to a recent survey from YouGov, most of us aren't ready for robot pets yet.
Over 6,000 Americans were asked if they'd be interested in getting one, and only 23% said yes. 9% said very interested and 14% said maybe. Everyone else said no, or wasn't sure.
Young people were a little more likely to want one though. 1 in 3 people aged 18 to 24 said yes, compared to just 12% of people over 55.
