Chris Pratt has given up sleeping aides for good, and he has a funny reason why.
The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star, 42, opened up about his experience on “The Late Late Show with James Corden" on Thursday night while promoting his new Amazon sci-fi action film “The Tomorrow War,” the Hollywood Reporter says.
While talking about his former high school wrestling days, the actor discussed a bad episode while taking Ambien, a prescription drug used to fall asleep.
“There was a moment in my life where I would take sleep aids to help me sleep, and I don’t anymore because of things like this,” the actor said.
Pratt went on to reveal that he would text people “while on Ambien” and black out, waking up the next morning with no memory of his previous conversations. One conversation in particular happened with "Guardians" co-star and famed former wrestler Dave Bautista, who approached him the following day.
“He goes, ‘You don’t remember?'” Pratt said while replicating Bautista’s voice. “When he walks out, I was like, ‘What did I text him?’ I look at my phone — it’s a text like this long.”
The actor continued, “It was like ‘Dave? I want to wrestle. I want to wrestle you. No one needs to know, but I just want to know, I think I could take you. I think I can wrestle you, bro, like collegiate rules. No elbows, no knees. I just want — I want to feel the power.'”
Pratt said he was “mortified” and admitted that Bautista would certainly beat him in a match, and Corden agreed.
Corden warned, “I fancy your chances against a lot of people; you should never ever wrestle him.”
