Let me start by acknowledging that appliances are generally not a good idea to give to your spouse for a gift unless they ask for one. I know this. However, I feel my situation here is different. My wife Lauryn turns --- well, it's a big birthday that's a nice round number - this weekend, and I want to get her a quality, thoughtful gift. We have been talking for months about how badly we need an air purifier in our apartment because we both struggle with the Florida allergies.
Our plan is to buy one together at some point, but as you might know, quality air purifiers are not cheap. I recently had the brilliant idea to just get one for her birthday! After sharing this thought with some friends, I was told that I was "an idiot" and that it's a "terrible idea." I appreciated the feedback. What are friends for?
