How would you feel if you looked out your window and saw a tiger walking down your street?

Some residents of a Houston neighborhood saw exactly that, as a loose tiger was spotted walking down Ivy Wall Drive in West Houston around 8:00 p.m. on May 9.

Those with a keen eye noticed that the tiger actually had a collar around its neck and that the animal belonged to a man living in the neighborhood.

Understandably, tensions were high with the tiger loose, which led to an incredibly heated confrontation as the presumed owner tried to get the tiger back into his home.

Eventually, the tiger was able to be wrangled back into the home, and thankfully, without anybody getting injured.

According to KHOU, owning a tiger is illegal in the City of Houston, but area allowed in the surrounding unincorporated Harris County if their owners register the animals and follow a strict set of rules.

Texas law allows for people to own tigers and other “dangerous wild animals”, as long as they register with their local animal control or sheriff, provide a paperwork copy to the state, and follow certain caging requirements.
