Courteney Cox is opening up about her history with cosmetic procedures, and shared that she thinks that, in the past, she chased youth a little too hard.

The star explained that it took her a long time to come to terms with the aging process, and used procedures like fillers as a way to cope.
“There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that (youthfulness) for years,” she said to the UK outlet, The Times. “And I didn’t realize that, oh s---, I’m actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.”
As Today reported, the “Friends” star realized her friends in real life were noticing. “Because people would talk about me, I think,” she said. “But there was a period where I went, ‘I’ve got to stop. That’s just crazy.’”
As she told New Beauty in 2017, “You have no idea because it’s gradual, until you go, ‘Oh, s---, this doesn’t look right.’”
So that year, Cox had all her fillers dissolved. “But Hollywood, this business, makes it harder,” she said at the time. “I grew up thinking that appearance was the most important thing. That’s kind of sad because it got me in trouble. I was trying so hard to keep up, and I actually made things worse.”
Nevertheless, Cox told the Times that the scrutiny over appearance that women face still concerns her, and she continues to try all kinds of beauty products. “I will try anything,” she confessed.
And now that her daughter, Coco, is 17, she’s more aware of the pressure she’ll face too. She claimed it worries her that Coco has 300,00 followers on Instagram.
Nevertheless, the two often post shots of themselves goofing around. A particularly memorable one was when Cox let Coco do her makeup.
Coco though seems to have a more safe grasp on her beauty routines.
“She’s obsessed with makeup tutorials and she’s really into taking care of her skin,” said Cox to New Beauty. “I wasn’t like that as a kid. I was much more into decorating my room and laying in the sun. I had no idea about sun damage. Coco’s more on it.”
