People in the town of Asheville, North Carolina got quite the surprise after a black bear was spotted strolling through the streets at night.
Jane Gough and her husband followed the bear before deciding to film the animal from the safety of their car. “Nightlife in downtown Asheville tonight!” Gouge wrote in a Facebook post which included the video.

The bear, who appears to be calm and potentially in search of its next meal, seems unfazed by the foreign environment. The animal continues down the side of the parking lot that is full with cars and bright street lamps.
“Wow that’s just smokie the bear doing his rounds,” one person joked on Facebook in response to the video.
“He must have come to the city looking for the BEAR necessities!” another commenter quipped.

Black bears are known to venture into populated areas in search of food. Earlier this month, a bear was shot with multiple tranquilizer darts and lowered from a tree in a quiet family neighborhood in St. Louis.
Photos of a bear went viral in Florida earlier in May as well after a black bear was found lounging and splashing around in a pool in Naples.
The homeowner responded to the bear sighting, saying “It was only scary when he came up to my sliders and was checking out my living room,” she said. “I really hope he doesn’t think my new couch looks comfy.”
