Taking to Instagram for the official public announcement, Charli declared, “charli xcx and george daniel f***ing for life!!!,” in the post’s caption alongside a a series of snaps, the first of which showed her and her drummer-boy fiancé sharing a romantic cinematic kiss.

In the second pic, Charli showed off her brand new bling -- aka engagement ring -- still in the box, sitting pretty in between two cups of tea.

The two made their relationship IG official in May 2022, after first meeting in 2021 when Charli enlisted The 1975 drummer, along with No Rome and Truman Black to form a “supergroup,” and release the song “Spinning.” Since that first collab, the two have worked together on a number of projects including Charli’s 2022 album Crash, “In the City,” Charli’s duet with Sam Smith, as well as “Hot Girl” for A24’s Bodies Bodies Bodies soundtrack.

Charli’s record label, Atlantic Records, confirmed the news and congratulated the singer on X, writing, “Major congratulations to @charli_xcx and George Daniel on their engagement.”

And they weren’t the only ones to celebrate the newly engaged couple. Several likes, comments, and emojis came flooding in from the couple’s famous friends. Including Daniel’s bandmate Matty Healy who wrote, “I cry🥺.” And Dua Lipa commented “aaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ congratulations lovebirds!!!!!” As well as Paris Hilton, who respond with two heart eye emojis, plus a whole lot more.
