Currently “in the middle” of her Europe Tour, Kenya will be trekking over to the U.S. for the first time ever for a four show U.S. Tour in December. Feeling a bit “nervous” but also “excited,” Kenya is ready to test the waters with her music on this side of the pond after making major waves in the UK.

For those who aren’t familiar with Kenya Grace, the singer described her sound as “always having soft vocals,” with almost always “quite sad” and “emotional” lyrics. “I love layering harmonies,” she added, “and love vocal production as a whole. It’s always dance music, always have fast drums and like a really big bass.” Combining all of the above, noting its “dance music with like a softer… more emotional version.”

Written and produced by Kenya Grace on a drum machine in her bedroom in London, “Strangers” is all about disposable dating and how you can be speaking to someone for a long time and then all of the sudden “you just never speak to them ever again.”

Discussing the speedy rise of her viral breakout track with an amassed over 225 million streams around the world to date, Kenya said “it’s been so fast, it was only like… three months ago I wrote this song and I posted it on Instagram, TikTok, and people just started making videos, it’s been such a whirlwind.”

For all that and more listen to Kenya’s entire interview above. And if haven’t already check out “Strangers” below.
