Marvel is giving fans a glimpse of its Anthony Mackie, who plays the Falcon, carrying the torch of Captain America.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe know that hanging around after the credits of one of its shows or movies will reveal a glimpse of its next big project.
Now Marvel is sharing a glimpse of Mackie as Captain America after giving fans a sneak peek at the end of the finale of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” reports Good Morning America. [The following may contain spoilers for episode 6 of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” on Disney+.]
During the episode, fans may have noticed the episode of the show's title changed to “Captain America and The Winter Soldier.”
On Monday, Marvel Studios shared a posted of Mackie in his red, white and blue suit.
“I’m #CaptainAmerica,” read the caption of the poster shared on the studio's official Twitter account.
The series finale consisted of Sam Wilson, Mackie’s character, surrendering his role as the Falcon and taking on the responsibility of the famous shield that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers gave him at the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” Mackie’s character was still able to keep his wings to give himself extra powers in the universe.
In March, Mackie took some time to speak with Audacy’s own Big Tigger and The Morning Culture about the series and what it’s like to be the Black Captain America. The NOLA native expressed, “it’s been a long road [...] and for me, to be a part of the Marvel franchise and having The Falcon under my belt is kinda like winning an Oscar and there’s nothing that can compete with the opportunity, the fame and stardom, and the eyeballs that come on you with being in this Marvel franchise.”
