NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers is apparently trying to bring new meaning to dual-threat quarterback.
The Green Bay Packers legend began a two-week run as guest host of the iconic gameshow Jeopardy! on Monday -- and it might be longer than that if he has any say.
Rodgers -- a self-described longtime Jeopardy! fanatic and a celebrity contestant in 2015 -- said in a recent interview that the show holds a "nostalgic" place going back to his childhood, and that it wouldn't be a very tough choice if he were offered the host's dais on a permanent basis.
"Hell yeah, I would," Rodgers told the Green Bay Gazette. "Look, it’s my second-brain job. I love the show and have a deep, deep affection for it. Not only is it a nostalgic connection to my childhood, but it’s a really special show to me, and I had a great time with everybody that works there."
On Tuesday, Rodgers clarified on NFL Network's Good Morning Football that he intends to continue playing, and he thinks he could both host the show and start under center for the Packers if it came to it.
The former California Golden Bears standout showed off his quiz-show chops back in '15, beating former "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary and astronaut Mark Kelly.
That round of Celebrity Jeopardy! was hosted by the legendary Alex Trebek, who died late last year of pancreatic cancer.
Rodgers told the Gazette he had been itching to return to Celebrity Jeopardy! since his last appearance, and never dreamed he'd have a chance to host under tragic circumstances.
"I always wanted to go back on the show to do another Celebrity Jeopardy!," Rodgers said, according to the paper. "Unfortunately, it was Alex’s passing – there was an opportunity that arose to guest host. And I looked at it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Rodgers follows a series of interim guests since Trebek's passing, including the journalist Katie Couric, former long-running Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings, and TV doctor Mehmet Oz.
