Despite Jennifer’s new album, marking her first release in a decade, it seems the multi hyphenate mogul might be ready to retire from music. During a recent conversation with Entertainment Tonight, J.Lo explained why she might be done with dropping more music in the future.

“The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this. It’s such the kind of quintessential kind of Jennifer Lopez J.Lo project and I really feel very fulfilled, so they really will be collector’s items at a certain point,” Lopez said, going on to share about the different album covers they did for fans.

After realizing she just dropped a pretty massive bomb, she added, “Don’t tell Benny that that’s what I’m thinking,” referring to her manager Benny Medina, “this might be my last album ever.”

A sequel to her third studio album, This Is Me… Then, released in 2002, This Is Me… Now is Lopez’s ninth studio album.

“I feel like it’s the end of a kind of an era for me and the beginning of a new one, so I would never say never, but right now I feel like I really put my heart and soul into this and I’m very excited and it definitely took a lot out of me.”

As we previously discussed just a few short weeks ago, the album itself isn’t the only thing Jen poured her heart and soul into. To accompany the album, Lopez will be simultaneously dropping an Amazon OriginalThis Is Me… Now: A Love Story, described as, “a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing.”

Both the album This Is Me… Now and This Is Me... Now: A Love Story are set to arrive on February 16, 2024.
