Jonah Hill is not joking this time.
The comedic actor took to his Instagram page yesterday to politely ask his fans to quit commenting on his body.

And with 3.1 million followers, hopefully his message takes root.
"I know you mean well,” wrote Hill, “but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body."
The plea to fans follows comments the star, 37, made months ago about coming to accept his body. Last February, after seeing a Daily Mail article that included photos of Hill changing out of his wetsuit after some surfing in Malibu, CA, the actor opened up about his insecurities.
"I don't think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends," Hill noted about the revelatory moment. "Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren't exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers."
He concluded, "So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this and it can't phase me anymore is dope. I'm 37 and finally love and accept myself."
These days the comments are more often about how the actor lost weight over the years. But as he notes in his post, “Good or bad I want to politely let you know it's not helpful and doesn't feel good. Much respect."
Hill's latest post brought praise from fans and family. As CNN noted, Hill's sister, actress Beanie Feldstein, praised her sibling for the post, sharing applause emojis; while singer SZA replied, "Absolutely love you. Thank you!!"
Hill, best known for his funny performances in movies like "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "Superbad," has increasingly dabbled in directing, including his directorial debut, 2018’s “Mid90s,” and the Instagram series, “Un-Filtered,” which deals with bullying, something Hill is all too aware of from his youth.
