We can only imagine the amounts of hot dogs and buns sold and purchased leading up to the Fourth of July holiday weekend, though one question still remains...why are hot dogs and buns sold in unequal packs?
You go to the store and hot dogs come in packs of ten, and the buns are in packs of eight. It just doesn't make sense.
Well, Heinz completely agrees that this practice is foolish, and has started a petition to end this farce once and for all.
Calling it the "Heinz Hot Dog Pact," the company writes on their website, "Hot dog wieners come in packs of 10. Hot dog buns come in packs of 8. WHY?! As the condiment that has been bringing foods together for over 150 years, we’ve decided enough is enough. That’s why we started the Heinz Hot Dog Pact."
The website continues, "We’re calling on Big Bun and Big Wiener companies to find the answer to this hot dog packaging mismatch, once and for all. We need your signatures more than ever. Let’s change hot dog history together."
The website then has a call-to-action, asking willing participants to sign the petition and bring an end to the insanity.
