A woman on a boat near San Diego recorded a large group of dolphins swimming and splashing alongside her in the Pacific Ocean.

Denise Miresmaili estimated being at least a half-mile off the shore of Oceanside in San Diego County over the weekend when she spotted the caravan of nearly 100 dolphins surrounding her. The dolphins jump in and out of the water playfully, racing alongside her boat.

Bottlenose dolphins are highly social and often travel in groups called pods. They swim and hunt together, teaching each other tricks for catching food. According to the Smithsonian, the most common pod is generally a group of mothers with their calves, but dolphins have reportedly gathered in groups of up to 1,000.

A flock of birds, equally enthralled, joined the traveling pod from above.
