This is one of the most selfless acts I have ever witnessed and I've seen a lot through the years.

You're about to meet a wonderful young woman named Samantha. She's young but facing the harsh reality that she will not be on this Earth for much longer.

She's dying from heart failure brought on by COPD. One of the only things keeping her alive is her 4-year-old service dog, Leias.

Watch the video on this page to hear Sammie's own words telling you why she wants Leias to help someone else after she's gone.

Right now, the two of them are inseparable, and for good reason.  Leias is trained to respond when Sammie is in danger.  She recognizes when Sammie stops breathing and gives her the right nudges at the right time to literally save her life.  It's clear the two very much love each other.

That's part of the driving force for Sammie's selflessness. She's asked for help in finding Leias next human to help before she's gone.

"I started crying immediately because me and her have a bond, me and the dog have a bond. I know the bond that she has with the dog." said Paul Anthony from Unleashed Doggie Daycare.

Paul is Leias original trainer who paired her up with Sammie to begin with. He tells me that Leias went through years of training to be able to help Sammie, now he's working with her to find Leias next partner. It's something he's never had to do this way before.

Sammie even wants to meet this person and help in the transition, if possible. Have you ever seen anything this amazing? If you know someone who could possibly benefit from a service dog like Leias, please reach out to me: getmarty@kdkaradio.com.
