Is it too late to get a flu shot?

By , KYW Newsradio

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Last year, cases of the flu were down dramatically. What about this year?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we are starting to see an increase in the number of cases of the flu in the past few weeks.

The good news is that testing is showing that the leading strain causing infection is one of the ones that the flu vaccine protects against.

The best time to get the flu vaccine was in October, but the CDC says that doesn’t mean you should avoid it now.

As cases rise, there will be increased spread, and the vaccine will protect you through the winter months and into the spring.

One other point: You can get both the flu shot and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time. When it comes to both the flu and COVID-19, prevention is the best weapon.
