Since premiering in 2016, Moore's character of Rebbeca Pearson has become one of the most beloved on the NBC series. And it is the tragedy of Rebecca’s journey – and further, the fact that the show will soon end its six-year run – that made a recent, simple social media post from Moore so powerful.

Sharing an image of set chairs with "This Is Us" written across them, she captioned the post: "Last day of work. The greatest 6 years at the best job I’ve ever had. Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude (and definitely lots of tears)."

According to People, Moore continued to pay tribute to the show's final days of filming in another post.

In it, Moore shows the inside entrance area of the Pearson family home. It looks as if some things have already been packed up and shipped out; the front door is open. Yet it still reveals signs of the TV family’s life. Coats remain hanging on a rack.

Moore captioned it, "Just walked through an empty Pearson house one last time" and tagged co-star Milo Ventimiglia.

The quiet, almost empty, elegiac scene mirrors the fleeting nature of Rebecca’s mind, due to the character's devolving dementia, and the show itself. And to add to the layers, Moore posted them to her Instagram Stories, meaning they can no longer be seen.

Despite her condition that has worsened in the final season, Rebecca continued to be there for her family. Like the recent emotional scene, as People noted, when Rebecca sang a song at her daughter Kate's (Chrissy Metz) wedding.

Moore said there was some real research behind her portrayal in that scene.

"I conferred with a neurologist who has helped me and the writers make sure we are as authentic as possible with the details," Moore said. "I discovered that, oftentimes, if someone suffering from dementia has done something repetitively in the past, as Rebecca has with playing music, then their cognitive reserve makes that same skill available to them, even years into a diagnosis."

As has been reported, the whole cast of “This Is Us” have been in a reflective mood with the oncoming end of the show.

Susan Kelechi Watson, who plays Beth Pearson, also shared some social media reflection this week when she posed for a selfie alongside TV husband, Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown), to commemorate their final scene. "We just wrapped our last scene together of the series," wrote Watson.

The “This Is Us” series finale airs May 24 on NBC.
