Many furbabies in the ATX area in local shelters are in need during this COVID-19 pandemic. The month of August many local shelters will be part of Clear the Shelters with KXAN promoting adoptions of furbabies who are ready for a furever home. As well as donations needed for furbabies who many times come into the shelters in need of medical attention and care before they can be adopted. This year it's a virtual event to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 to keep families, shelter crews and furbabies safe and happy.

The Coronavirus has caused many Central Texas animal shelters to limit the amount of volunteers. Some just relying on the small staff to completely keep up with day-to-day demands.
