In 2018, a plan to reverse the elephant tusk importation ban outraged award winning, world-renowned National Geographic Photojournalist Ami Vitale. She launched a print sale to raise funds to help an elephant sanctuary in Kenya.
This evolved into the non-profit Vital Impacts. Created by Ami Vitale and her friend visual journalist Eileen Mignoni. They used the same print sale fundraising model with the help of some of their talented photographer friends. Each photograph shares a powerful message taken from a moment in time.
Vital Impacts has raised over $1.5 million through the sale of fine art prints. The funds help unique conservation and humanitarian efforts which include Jane Goodall's Shoots and Roots program, SeaLeagacy, Big Life Foundation and more. It's a 60 / 40 split for environment / photographers. Check out some of the amazing works that are helping to save many lives and the environment. Showcasing the works of talented photographers, and supporting the next generation of storytellers and humanitarians.
