A new push to put Harriet Tubman on the front of the new $20 bill replacing the seventh president of the United States Andrew Jackson is in motion.

Harriet Tubman's journey in life started enslaved as a child in Maryland. She dealt with the violence of her handler causing her a traumatic brain injury. She never let that stop her heroic efforts and actions from escaping bondage to Philadelphia, which lead her back to rescue her family and others who were enslaved.

When the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 allowed bounty hunters to take enslaved people in free states, Harriet Tubman continued her journey taking others to freedom in Canada. She would be known as "The Moses of her people" of the Underground Railroad, where she never lost anyone. During the civil war she worked as a scout and spy for the Union. Tubman would live 93 years leading others to the freedoms all deserve, and her later years as a women's suffrage activist.

The movie Harriet is based on Tubman's inspirational life of a freedom fighter who transforms after escaping slavery into a Great American Hero!

The Biden / Harris administration is moving forward with Janet Yellen, the first-ever female Secretary of Treasury, working towards a historical win for diversity with the Tubman Twenty.
