The latest music video from THE DRIVER ERA has been released and we can finally stop counting down the days until it drops.
Ross and Rocky Lynch gave us a sneak peek at the premise of THE DRIVER ERA’s “Places” music video in their RADIO.COM FANDEMIC earlier this month.
“It’s like the strangest meeting of your girlfriend’s parents and what unfolds after that,” Ross said at the time.
Well, he wasn’t lying.
Rocky serves as the main character in the video and it features truly bizarre interactions and scenarios with his girlfriend’s parents. From an out of control family dinner, to cocktails on the patio together that turns into a hallucinatory experience, the “Places” video definitely lived up to the hype.
The video was directed by Ross and produced by Rocky and Ryland Lynch.
The chorus you hear in “Places” almost never came to be. During their FANDEMIC, Rocky revealed that he had a different chorus in place for the song. “I sent it to our manager with a different chorus,” he said. “Then I was in Vancouver with Ross and I was listening to it and knew that it wasn’t right.”
While the chorus sounded great, something felt off. “The reason why I didn’t like that other hook was because it was forced,” Rocky said. “That’s what we’re really bad at, we’re really bad at being like, 'let’s just wrap up this song and throw this and that.’”
