Chilling at home after a whirlwind year, resting and gearing up for some last few months of madness, Ryan reminisced about the successes 2022 has brought him.

“I Ain’t Worried,” which Bennett noted is “this song that is incredibly beautiful and catchy, matched with one of the the biggest movies of all time,” jokingly adding “Tom Cruise, Miles Teller’s abs,” of course talking about Top Gun: Maverick, is kind of the ideal situation, and “doesn’t happen by accident.” And as Tedder sarcastically noted, was manifested from his hopes and dreams from two years prior, “we planned it.”

“As soon as COVID locked us all down, and I thought to myself, ‘do you know what would really work out convenient for me personally?’ Is landing a song in the biggest movie two years from now, 2022. And you know, put it into the universe and here it is.”

Noting he’s “extremely accustomed to high stakes,” Tedder’s impressive list of previous collaborators admittedly helped him in many ways when tasked with putting together the track 24 hours after zooming with Tom Cruise.

Ryan goes to discuss his inspirational approach to writing, and his rule of 3 when working on a project for television or movies. Admitting Tom knew “I Ain’t Worried” was the one before he had a chance to get the other two.
