On Friday, December 27, a Letterboxd account attributed to Charli XCX had gone viral showing her favorite flicks and recent finds, including Charlie’s Angels, The Addiction, Bride of Frankenstein, and tons more. “My account got leaked i guess,” Charli later updated her profile.
It’s worth noting that throughout her hectic 2024 schedule, she still managed to catch over 200 films since signing on, and even makes time to drop a little review now and then. “There were a lot of songs in this!” she said of the new Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, while also admitting she watched The Tragedy of Macbeth “whilst george built lego” -- referring to fiancé George Daniel -- and that Brad Pitt‘s Moneyball simply “isn’t for British people.”
Following the wild success of her 2024 album Brat, Charli has been at work getting her own film career off the ground and is credited in a number of films currently in post-production, including 100 Nights of Hero, Erupcja, Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex, Mother Mary and Sacrifice, and also guests on Amazon’s Overcompensating. Lastly, Charli recently joined the cast of The Gallerist alongside Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega.
2025 is certainly shaping up to be another interesting ride around the sun for Charli and she's heading into the new year with zero resolutions just to ensure it stays that way. Posting on social media this week, she told her followers "love you all from the bottom of my heart angels. thank you for everything. happy to be here in this moment together <3 and happy new year and also no new year’s resolutions for me coz i just break them xx."
