In her recent memoir, “Dying of Politeness” actress Geena Davis looks back on a rough and upsetting time with Bill Murray.
While filming “Quick Change” together in 1989, the “A League of Their Own” star said when she was introduced to Murray in a hotel room he reportedly “insisted” on using a massage device on her.

“I said no multiple times, but he wouldn’t relent,” she writes in the book. “I would have had to yell at him and cause a scene if I was to get him to give up trying to force me to do it; the other men in the room did nothing to make it stop. I realized with profound sadness that I didn’t yet have the ability to withstand this onslaught – or to simply walk out.”
"I should have walked out of that or profoundly defended myself, in which case I wouldn’t have got the part," Davis told the Times UK about the incident.
Davis would later win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her work in “The Accidental Tourist” in 1989.
The actress said the ordeal came to a close when Murray “placed the thing on my back for a total of about two seconds."
As “Quick Change” was filming in New York, Davis wrote Murray shouted at her in front of the crew as she was waiting on wardrobe. “There were easily more than 300 people there – and Murray was still screaming at me, for all to see and hear.”
Davis says she’s had no contact with the “Ghostbusters” actor since they worked together in the late ‘80s.
“For publicity, I saw him after we made the movie, but other than that, I haven’t seen him or spoken to him,” Davis told People. “I figure it’s sort of rather universally known that he could be difficult to work with. And so I don’t feel like I’m busting him in a way that will necessarily shock him. I think he knows very well the way he can behave.”
Before her memoir’s release on Oct. 11, Davis had much more kind things to say about ex-husband, the actor Jeff Goldblum. She referred to her short marriage to the “Jurassic Park” star as a “magical chapter in my life.”
